Anisha Ali

PRESIDENT

Hi everyone, my name is Anisha Ali. I am honored to serve as your 2023-2024 PHAP-SA President. I was born in Oakland, CA and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2022. I served on the PHAP-SA board last year and got to work with a lot of you! I am so excited to build deeper ties within our PHAP community and to help you all succeed. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or if there is anything I can do for you during your time at PHAP.

SydneyJane Shia

VICE PRESIDENT

Hello! I am SydneyJane Shia, but feel free to call me SJ. I am PHAP-SA’s Vice President for this year. I graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2022 with a Bachelors in Science in Biochemistry. My goal is to pursue dentistry. From recognizing first hand challenges and barriers in accessing healthcare, I want to spread awareness and representation within my community while delivering equitable and compassionate care.

Maya Caple

CO-VICE PRESIDENT

Hello, my name is Maya Caple and I am the PHAPSA Co-Vice President. I am from the East Bay Area and I went to undergrad at Azusa Pacific University gaining my degree in psychology. I also have an associates in psychology, human development and sociology. I am in my first year at PHAP and I am also an MPH student at NYU studying community health and epidemiology. I work at Stanford University as a clinical researcher coordinator for a COVID-19 trial and in my free time I enjoy spending time with my doberman Neptune, and binge watching shows/movies with my boyfriend! I am happy to be on the PHAPSA board and bring so many great ideas to life for my fellow PHAPers and work with an amazing team!

Hayne Navarra

Hello, my name is Hayne and I born in the Philippines and grew up in Cupertino, CA. I graduated in 2021 from UC Santa Cruz and received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. During my free time I enjoy hiking and exploring new places. When time permits, I enjoy cooking and making new dishes! I especially like creating pumpkin based dishes. I look forward to serving you all and don’t be afraid to reach out!

Mohammed Azeel

Hello Everyone! My name is Mohammed Azeel, and I am PHAP-SA’s Outreach Chair. I grew up in the Bay Area, but I graduated from UCLA in 2019. As a pre-med student, I joined PHAP-SA because I want to promote a collaborative academic environment where we are all striving not only for Outside of school, you can find me doing activities such as: hiking, hot yoga, and running. Hello everyone, my name is Anna, I provide support for students as they focus on their classes and help them get the most out of their credits. I provide aid in trying to help students make the most of their classes while in PHAP.

Hi everyone! My name is Anisha Bhasin,I graduated from the University of the Pacific, and have been in the PHAP program for about two years. I love reading, dancing, and volunteering. My passion has always been geared towards the medical field, and it stems from my love for science and understanding and helping others!

Hello! My name is Nicolette, and I am this year’s Co-Marketing Chair! I live in SF. I’m 25 and want to be a reconstructive plastic surgeon. My hobbies include surfing, yoga, and skiing. As your marketing chair, I look forward to supporting you all in your journeys into the medical field!
